Can I freeze a leftover keylime pie that already has whipped cream on it? If so, how do I do it?

If you wrap the pie tightly won’t the plastic wrap stick to the pie? I always stick tooth picks in mine if I have to cover it, to keep the plastic wrap from sticking to the top of the pie.
Can it be frozen in a Tupperware type pie holder so the top is protected?

There are no instructions on how to properly freeze a key lime pie, even though that is the title of the article. What the heck??
