Audra, I made this yesterday and it is so delicious! I left out the cream, by the way, and it worked just fine. I consider myself a chef, not a baker - precise measuring is not my thing - so I appreciate an uncomplicated dessert that allows me to just throw stuff in a pot! This was so easy to make. My guest commented on how she could taste the tartness of the Granny Smith apples and appreciated that the crisp wasn't overly sweet - I agree! I also used salted caramel sauce instead of regular caramel as a topping, so it was salty, sweet, and tart all in one, and it was perfection! Thank you for this recipe. I'll be making it again, for sure.

Just made this for dessert tonight. I forgot the caramel sauce, but it was still fantastic. I added pecans to the topping, and they were delicious. Thanks for the recipe! It's a keeper!

This looks amazing! I'm planning on bringing it to my sister's house this Thankspgiving. I was planning on baking it in the morning. When should I add the caramel sauce? Thanks. Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi! I made this about a month ago for a family reunion and it was a huge hit! So amazing!

I am going to make it again as a quick extra dessert for Thanksgiving tomorrow and I was hoping to not have to run to the dreaded grocery store. My heavy cream expired a few days ago... could I use regular milk in place of the heavy cream or do I realllllly need that heavy cream (and make that dreaded trip to the chaotic-day-before-Thanksgiving-grocery trip?)
