An instant favorite, thank you! This quick and easy recipe makes a hearty, delicious, and attractive soup.

Store-bought dried pasta takes much longer to cook (8-14 minutes) than fresh pasta (1-3 minutes). I used store-bought pasta that is good in soups (Barilla Ditalini). In boiling water it cooks in 10 minutes; in this soup it took considerably longer because I didn't want to scorch the soup. The second time I made this recipe, I boiled the pasta separately for 7 minutes and then added it to the soup to finish cooking for a few minutes more. This worked well.
