Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie Mix in a Jar

Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie Mix in a Jar

Ingredients

In each jar:

  • 1 3/4 cups 7.6 oz* all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups 9 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup 6 oz packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup 3.5 oz granulated sugar
  • 1 wide-mouthed qt.-sized mason jar

Instructions

To assemble jars:

  1. In a medium sized bowl combine the flour, baking soda and salt and stir together. Scoop it into the bottom of the jar and tap a bit to settle.
  2. Gently pour the chocolate chips on top of the flour and use your hand to try to smooth them into an even layer.
  3. Scoop in the brown sugar, packing it in slightly and top with the white sugar. (You can gently press the white sugar layer down if needed, but most likely the whole thing will fit perfectly)

Include the following instructions with the jar:

  1. Cream 1 1/2 sticks of soft butter with 1 egg and 3/4 tsp of vanilla extract. Add the contents of the jar and fold together, making sure that everything is well-mixed with no lumps of flour, but not over-mixed. Drop rounded tablespoons onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, 2-3 inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes at 350F.

Notes

* If you are making a large amount of these jars, I highly suggest weighing the ingredients. It saves tons of time and makes the whole process a little more seamless. Recipe adapted from: Very Best Baking
